With expertise that you have approved, processes that you have modeled, a network that you appreciate and support that you adore ... Our solutions are made by international traders, for international traders!
How does DocShipper help you step by step?
Getting started as an international buyer is not easy when you have no experience in the field, even if you do! It is a profession which is very time-consuming and which, in addition to skills, also requires a network already established as a reliable supplier over time. And that's where DocShipper comes in! Being in the field for years, we had the opportunity to build up a supplier portfolio that would make more than one blush! A portfolio that we put at your disposal for your supply needs.
We will be your eyes and ears with the supplier. Support throughout the process, an "all-inclusive" solution to give you time to focus on what is important in your business: your sales, your recruitments, your management, you're marketing ... Do not waste any more time managing areas that you do not really master, and let the pros do it!
How do we proceed ? What are the different stages of buying and importing process?
This procedure is marked by various interventions and relationships (particularly human). We have mastered it thanks to years of experience at your service. In a way, you have made us experts in needlework! It is above all essential for you to clearly discern the different stages of the process so that you know where you are going! The different steps below are quite intuitive, but the chained ones with a flawless one becomes a real challenge, not to mention the wasted time!
Here is a brief overview of how DocShipper can support you from A to Z in your project. Yes, yes, we said from A to Z. Are you surprised? This is normal, this is unique!
Clarify the specifications
Before embarking on the supplier search process, it is important to determine the exact needs of your project first. This is called the specifications. Your DocShipper consultant will determine this with you and can possibly advise you on certain points if necessary! Our advice is also included in the support, it's something we've always hesitated to charge, and after all, it's part of the package: your satisfaction is our success, so let's build a long-term relationship!
These specifications must be communicated in a meticulous and synthetic manner so that your DocShipper consultant (and the supplier at the end) can save time, your time. The necessary information is as follows:
1. Your products in order of preference:
- Link of the reference on the merchant site (Amazon, Alibaba, Aliexpress, etc.)
- Detailed specifications if the previous link is not enough.
- Photos, if the previous link is not enough.
- Other details, requests, needs
2. The MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) as well as the target price for each reference
If you plan to buy 10,000 electric bikes, we need to know the quantities for each reference: colors, power, and target price. You can of course come up with much more abstract projects, but this will impact the speed of the process. Logically, if there is less precision, it will require more back and forth between you and our consultant to determine your needs. Round trips which, by definition, will waste everyone's time, and you will be the first, so you should prepare the details well in advance!
Supplier search
A vital step in the procurement process, finding the supplier who can meet your needs. We are therefore going to launch our research to find an actor who can comply with your requirements:
- Production price
- Certifications held by the supplier
- Possibility of private label (personalization under your brand), or any other criteria
- Production capacity in line with your needs (time / production)
- Respect for intellectual property if necessary
- Specific needs such as a physical meeting, an exclusive contract ...
- Examination and subjective comparison of the suppliers we have in our portfolio
Following this step, we will produce a short list of suppliers that aligns with your needs. A first listing, which will then allow us to come out with the most suitable supplier for your project.
Docshipper Tip :
Finding the supplier that best suits your needs is not an easy task. That's why at DocShipper we have sourcing agents who are there to help you through the entire sourcing process. In addition, we offer our clients a large portfolio of reliable suppliers that our clients have already worked with. For that, I let you contact us right here. For more information about DocShipper you can visit our official website.
Standards and compliance audits
Your DocShipper advisor is in direct contact with our legal team, who will study administrative needs. Following this, we will inform you of the various documents necessary to be able to import the products into the country of destination: CE marking, ROHS, EEC, ISO, EN71 ...
This study requires special collaboration with local authorities in the country of destination. This part is not to be taken lightly, it is enough to forget the slightest document and your project may fall apart, so do not rush this step.
Note that legislative monitoring is essential to be constantly up-to-date with new directives, which are regularly updated!
Order negotiation
We are now sure that the products are legally compliant, it is now time to start negotiations with the supplier(s) to contract an order that will be profitable for your business. To do this, we will play on several variables:
- The price
- Guarantees
- Payment terms
- Deadlines and production capacity
Sample request (Optional but recommended)
We have finalized negotiations with the supplier, now is the time for you to see what the final product looks like! And for that, nothing better than to have it in hand. We will deal directly with the supplier to arrange for a sample to be sent to you so that you can see and most importantly test your product. This phase is not compulsory, but highly recommended!
Note that the supplier often offers a free sample, but you will probably have to pay the shipping costs. In this case, we will use express services (such as DHL, FedEx, TNT, UPS ...) for a fast and competitive shipment.
DocShipper Advice: When looking for a supplier, the mistake not to make is to rush. It is essential to take your time and analyze the proposals of each one. You can call on a DocShipper sourcing agent who will help you choose the one that best suits your needs. For more information about DocShipper you can visit our official website. And to get in touch with one of our agents I let you fill out the contact form
Customized Quality Control (Optional)
Quality control is a phase that can be done at several stages of the process, it depends on your needs. This step makes it possible to certify that the products correspond to what has been contracted with the supplier, that there are no manufacturing defects or omissions ...
The control is done according to 2 factors that you will determine yourself:
- Appearance check: this is a visual check only (printing of a mark, labeling, minor manufacturing defect, etc.)
- Function control: this is a control of the different product performances (indicator light, buttons, batteries, etc.)
Typically, you will pay 30% of the order to start production and the remainder (70%) will need to be paid when the shipment is ready. And that's exactly when control really makes sense. We will contract with the supplier that a QC (Quality Control) will be carried out before the payment of the 70% and that if the test report is not validated by our inspectors, the supplier must take back the defects to collect the balance of the ordered. Note that the inspector will note the defects according to 3 categories: minor, major and vital.
Note that although this step is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended, especially when you have no history with a particular supplier. Concretely, placing a first order with a supplier and paying 100% of the order without being sure of the quality of the product is a pure suicide!
Supplier payment
Quality control (if done) is approved, now it is time to finalize the order by paying the balance of your shipment. Usually this balance will be 70%. Once again, we support you in this process, whether at the level of the payment method (PayPal, credit card, bank transfer, letter of credit) but also at the level of the currency itself. We have multi-currency accounts capable of supporting the most popular currencies (USD, EURO, GBP, THB, HKD, RMB ...).
Also note that DocShipper innovates, we are the only company in this rustic industry that has accepted payments in Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) so no more problem for payments!
International freight
Who says procurement necessarily means transport of goods. That's good, it's our specialty! DocShipper was originally a conglomerate of several freight forwarders, so international freight is a real pleasure for us. And suddenly, it is for you too! What could be better than having an interlocutor able to manage the entire chain from A to Z: our sourcing department helps you in your purchases, our transport department assists you in the routing of goods and finally our 3PL department in the distribution of your products.
We are able to handle transport, wherever you are and whatever the method of transport. Whether by plane, by boat, by truck or by train, our team will offer you the most appropriate solution for your project, considering the budget and deadline issues.

Services 3PL (Optionnel)
Finally, we are always there at the end of the chain with this dedicated service for E-merchants. The 3PL department at DocShipper is a direct alternative to Amazon FBA. The principle is quite simple, we store your products, track your inventory, prepare the orders and coordinate the Last Mile Delivery as it is called, that is to say the B2C delivery to your customers.
Are you in E-Commerce and don't want to deal with your customers' orders? We can process them for you!
